Last Friday Beach Run in July
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s the last Friday of July!! WTF?! How did this happen. Last Friday I ran on Revere Beach. So it only seems fitting for the last Friday of the month to run the beach again. Today was fabulous. The weather was just right at 67 degrees. Cool breeze and not a lot of folks around- Yes. The sand sculptures were still up from the International Sand sculpturing competition that was on the beach last week.
I woke up early to make sure I can see the sunrise raise while I ran. My leg feels a bit tight. I might need to rest it for a bit. I ran 4.60 miles. 2.30 on the sidewalk adjacent to the beach and the other 2.30 was on the sand of the beach.
I did a bit tired. I need to work on fueling and hydration. I know, I say that every time. Now it’s even more important that I do that. Yesterday, I had an appointment with my primary care doctor. The scale read: 161lbs. I have not been this heavy in almost 20 years. Last year my weight was 155. The weight is centered around my gut, my belly. Ugh, so frustrating. Part of it is hormones, side effects of my drugs, and being older.
I run, I watch what I eat, I move my body. Normally I know the reason I gain weight but not this time. I was offered weight loss drugs. From what the doctor was telling me, those drugs are like crack. A lot of folks are getting them. I want to see what I can do, myself before another drug is entered into my body.
I could go on but I won’t. I need to get 15 pounds off of me. I’ll reassess all of this in September.
4.69 miles on the beach. Check
