Friday Beach Run
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
It’s finally cool!!! Yes! I do not think I’ve run the beach this summer because it’s been so hot. That all changed this morning. I drove to Revere Beach for a long run, 7 miles. This is week 3 of Marathon training and I need to start having long runs.
To my surprise, part of the beach was blocked off because it’s the 20th anniversary of the International sand sculpture contest. Not all the sculptures were fully done yet. It was a whole thing.Vendors were setting up, there was a ferris wheel, police and security were all around. Did I mention it was cool.
I did 3 minutes of warm up stretches from the Surge App and I started running. I was feeling good. But unlike yesterday, I don’t think I ate enough. I did feel a bit tried. But my legs and arms felt strong. I ran down the beach and cross the bridge over to Lynn before turning around.
My app said I ran 6.03 miles at a 10:57 pace for 1:06:01 time. I stopped my watch to do a Facebook live before I finished the extra mile
You see everything on the beach- people sleeping, making out, construction crews getting ready to work. By 6:30a.m., the beach was active. It was not quite.
It was a good morning long run today.
