SURVEY AND THE RESEARCHER
Black Women Recreational Running survey was created by Dr. Tiffany Gayle Chenault, Ph.D. The aim of this survey is to gather a better understanding of the reasons Black women participate in recreational running and how they respond and are perceived in an activity in which they are a racial and gendered minority. Not only is Dr. Chenault a sociologist and researcher in the areas of social inequality, community, and intersectionality; she is also an active member of the running community. She is the ambassador for Black Girls Run(BGR) Boston and she has run a marathon ( Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati) and is on a journey to run 50 half marathons in 50 states. The Black Women and Recreational Running survey will take no more than twenty minutes to complete. The survey gathers five types of information (1) demographic information; (2) running experience (3) hair and body image (4) social Media ( 5) neighborhood and community Dynamics. Participates who fill out the survey will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win up to (3) $100 gift cards.
