Friday Perfect Beach run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s the first Friday of September. It already feels like fall. The rain has stop because Ida has left. Bye Ida, Bye. Now it’s a cool 59 degrees out. Perfect running weather. Yesterday I rested and had a pelvic PT appointment. One thing we discussed was breathing. How breathing can help with muscles and pelvic floor. People hold stress in their pelvic floor, which is more common than I thought. We working on some breathing techniques as well as some stretches. If I can do 5 minutes of breathing exercise before I run and then after, that would help.
This morning before I left the house, I worked on my breathing for 5 minutes and did another 5 minutes of stretching before I left the house. I drove to Revere Beach. The sun was slowly starting to come up. Now sunrise is at 6:15a.m. Fall is coming. Instead of running down Revere Beach, I went the opposite way towards Short and Winthrop beach. In this direction there weren’t any people around.
I noted the first mile, I was still a bit tight, thou I did my breathing exercises. By mile two, I was loose and felt fine. I was listening and feeling my body as I ran. I felt strong running this morning. I past short beach and continued to Winthrop beach. That is when I saw dog walkers and surfers. I think I saw 3 people running but we were in the minority. It was such a wonderful morning. I personally wanted to run into the water since I have not been in the water all summer long. I have to put this on my bucket list before summer is over. At mile 3, I did walk a bit. My PT suggested I should run a bit and then walk a bit, just to loosen and relax those pelvic muscles. I walked for a while before I started to run. That helped too.
Besides having a beach dance break the other unexpected thing was happy a dog that I passed bit my shorts. The owner was like “ oh I’m sorry.” Whatever. Luckily, I was calm and not in a fighting mood.
5.25 miles done for the day. I walked after I finished and took in the fresh salty air.
Mile 1: 10:49
Mile 2: 10:05
Mile 3: 15:54
Mile 4: 9:51
Mile 5: 10:15
Mile 5.25: 9:53
