10k a.m. Friday, Windy AF beach run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Thursday was a rest and health day. I saw my pelvic floor PT, got a flu shot, and worked on breathing and stretching exercises. Today, Friday, it is suppose to rain. I wanted to take advantage of the warm 50 degree weather before the rain came. I decided on a 10k a.m. fall beach run, why not? I drove to Revere Beach, “ America’s first beach.”. It was super windy. I wasn’t expecting so much wind and high waves. I somewhat had the beach to myself. Besides all the stalkers and the school kids waiting for the bus, it was quiet. You can hear the water and the waves. I put in my headphones and ran along the beach.
I could tell there was less pain when I ran. My min/mile pace picked up a bit and I could keep on running. Yesterday I rested, eat well, and hydrated. I didn’t get tired and had the fuel to keep on running. It was a good running morning. The only hiccup was the sand. Because it was so windy, sand kept blowing around, which blew into my face. I think I swallowed some.
I ran three miles out. On the way back I ran/walked the last three miles. The waves were so hauntingly beautiful and calm, you couldn’t help yourself but to soak it in. I ran/walked the last three on the beach. It was high tide. Me, the birds, sand, and shells for the last three miles. I didn’t rush myself. Instead I took the time to enjoy and be in the moment. I enjoyed this mornings run completely.
