Last Beach run of 2019
The day after Christmas. Unfortunately like so many others, there was over eating and over drinking. Christmas is always touch and go for me. This holiday for some reason I was really missing my mother. I didn’t want to do anything or cook anything or visit or talk to anyone. I was in a MOOD. I did get myself to go to Christmas eve mass last night , even that was touch and go until I did it. Christmas morning, it took me a while to get out of my MOOD. I did start cleaning and organizing until I met my friend( who has lost a parent as well) at 4pm at my favorite Chinese Sports Bar. To my surprise and unawareness, the place was packed and non-stop busy. We ate , drank, caught up. Then I left there and visited another friend and her family for wine, laugh, conversations, and cake. I survived the day.
Today, is a new day. Today I get to run and then go to the Cal-Zone for conditioning club. Since it’s 33 degrees out, I wanted a nice a.m. beach run. I knew the beach would be quiet and it would all be mine. Now sunrise isn’t it until 7:15 a.m., so I’ll be able to run with the sun. I’ll be able to see the sun.
There were a few folks on the beach with there dogs and loads of construction workers waiting to start working. That aside it was quiet. I’m still establishing a baseline. Running today was good. I ran 4.13 miles and I ran a mile around the 9:45min. It’s coming. The weather was just right.
Sand, water, seagulls, shells, pavement, and sweat. The last beach a.m. run of 2019
