Track Tuesday
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Love me some track Tuesday. I’m glad I made it today. Last night the Iowan and I went out to meet my friend Dr. Y. I haven’t seen her since 2018. It was so good to see my friend that I talk to all the time but haven’t had a chance to hug or hang out with. Dr. Y now lives in Florida and she’s up here for a conference.
We went to a fabulous Cuban restaurant, had apps, drinks, a great main course, and listen to music. It was a Monday night that felt like a Thursday. Alas, I had to go home to get ready for Track.
Up at 5:05a.m. I didn’t get to the MIT track until 5:55a.m. freaking traffic and tunnel being closed. With the overcast I thought it was going to rain more. There were slight sprinkles in the mugginess. Today’s workout was 20x200s. 5 sets at 10k pace, 5k, 1M, 1M pace.
Red Team as always was great. I notice with the shorter distance, I wasn’t always on the right pacer time. I was in range but not quite on the mark. Luckily team red was down for whatever and we had a blast.
That’s what’s it is about fun and community. Besides we did more than most people do before 7:45a.m.
It was a good morning and workout. Though, I still feel bloated and heavy. This is not good. Hopefully, my doctor can give me tools to help with this. As much running as I do and mindful eating , I should be losing weight not gaining. Hormones Maybe? We’ll see.
