Track Tuesday = International Women's Day
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yesterday Spring came to visit. Today she’s gone. 50 degrees on Monday turned into a 32 degree, sunny, and windy as fuck kind of morning. Oh well. It’s track Tuesday and the running show must go on. Last Track Tuesday the track was still covered with snow. Since Spring has visited a couple of times since last week, I was banking that the snow would be gone from the track.
5:45a.m. I was out the door. But I switched up my route and ran longer miles before running on the track. The goal this morning is 7-8 miles. Because it is International Women’s Day, I wore my black girls run hat and cite black women t-shirt for my run.
I ran along the East Boston Harborwalk, through the Shipyard, Pier’s Park, and Breman Street Park before I made my way to East Boston Stadium. I happy to see no snow on the track. The theme of this morning’s run is women. Running through the Shipyard and the East Boston Greenway, I took pictures of women, female figures, and any ladies that I could find.
Ironically, I ran into only two ladies walking this morning.
I ran around the track six times before making my way back home.
7.02 miles, 10:09 mile pace, moving time: 1:11:22.
I felt good running in my new shoes and with a stronger knee. Correction, less achy knee. I should have went for eight miles but I didn’t. Proud of the strong and solid 7 miles that I did.
