First run of August 2023
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
The first couple of days in August I was traveling from Iowa to Massachusetts. Today is my first run of the month. I realized that I am still tired from traveling and I did not drink enough water yesterday. I was slow moving this morning. I had to get up and do something. This is the mantra I tell myself “ just do something”. I didn’t know where to run or how many miles I would do. But I was aware that it’s street cleaning day and I’m parked on the wrong side of the street. I had to move my car. I parked on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month side. Oops.
I thought where ever I find parking would be where I would start running. This around 5:50a.m. To my pleasant surprise I found parking a block away. No driving in circles or several blocks away.
I ran around the greenway, through the Shipyard and Pier’s Park. I made my way around Maverick square and back towards my street. Mileage =3.35. I ran and walked a bit. The weather was perfectly cool. Great weather to run in. This run, I had on a fuel vest because I couldn’t find my running belt to put my phone and keys in. The fuel belt was great for this. It wasn’t heavy and loaded down with water, snacks, and gu.
3.31 miles- 11:32 pace. Yeah, I was tired. My body felt good but the energy level wasn’t as high. I’m sure Saturday will be better when I run.
