Bye July 2023
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
The last day of July I ran in Des Moines Iowa. Why Iowa? My Iowa’s mother passed. I flew to Iowa last week. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get a run or a walk in. I brought my running shoes just in case. In the six days I was there, I was able to run twice. Two days before I left, I was able to run 2.50 miles through downtown Des Moines. I’ve run in this downtown before but it was snowy and cold. This time. It’s hot. Like 88 degrees hot by 7 a.m.
I was running and people were going to work. I ran to the Woman Achievement Bridge of Iowa. This bridge always makes me happy as I run over the Des Moines River. I saw some new things around the river that I hadn’t seen on my last trip. I even saw people fishing in the river. Alas, no runners or walkers in the city, at least the part that I was in.
I could have gone longer but I wanted to ease into the run. Plus it was getting hot and I didn’t have my earbuds. I know, such a complainer I am. I got miles in and explored. Still winning.
