First September 2023 run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
September 1st I went to strength training class. So I moved my body a lot. Sadly it was my last Friday class because next week school starts and I teach on Friday. I think it’s good because I can devote more time to training for the BAA half marathon in November. This girl needs to get more miles in.
Anywho, today, Saturday, is an amazing 64 degrees. So I ran the beach. Instead of running on Revere Beach, I ran around Withrop Short beach and Withrop Beach. Not sure why the two names are different. The goal was to run a 10k. I can’t remember the last time I did that.
I even slept late and ran late. 7 a.m. running start time late. The weather was perfect. Since it is a holiday week, I saw a lot a people on the beach with dogs, walking, running, or just chilling and sitting on the beach.
I did get a thumbs up and a big yeah, from a Latino man and woman, running in a BAA shirt. We were the only black and brown folks running on this beach this morning. I appreciate his acknowledgement and support. That was cool.
Did didn’t expect on my run the sidewalks to winthrop because to be torn up because of construction. I was mindful to be very cautious. Overall I felt good.
When I reached my car, I ran 5.30 miles. I could have kept running another .70 miles but I didn’t want to and it was past 8a.m. I have things to do.
54:55 time at 10:20 mile/pace. This is good and start of my build.
Yeah me for a Saturday, September Beach run
