First Morning Run of November 2023
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
I did not run for a week. The end of October we went away to the Cape. I brought my running shoes and attire because I planned on running. Well, that did not happen. My body and soul needed rest. I planned on running the third morning we were there. Unfortunately, there was an emergency back in Boston and we had to leave abruptly. Needless to say, this has been a week.
I reminded myself the BAA half is in 8 days. I should probably run a bit. Today was my first day running in November. Today was my first time miler this month. I’m not going to lie. The struggle is always run. Life is unexpected and wears you down sometimes. I told myself to run a 5k this morning, just to get my body moving.
I planned at the last minute to run around Castle Island. My original plan was running through Franklin Park, the start of the BAA half marathon to get a feel of the course. My detour to Castle Island was rewarded with an amazing sunrise. The reds, yellows, purples, of the sky was breathe taking.
To be honest, my stomach was upset. I didn’t know if I would cut the run short or if I needed to find a bathroom.
Slow, steady, and strong was the theme of running this morning. I took my time and familiarize myself with my body running long distance. I started running at 7 a.m. Which is late for me.
I was stopping many times along the way to take pictures and take in the views.
I felt good and strong. I miscounted my miles. When I ran back to my car , 9.50 miles was my total. You know your a running when you keep running up and down the street for .50miles to get 10.
Strava said my pace was 10.37 miles and time 1:40. I’m not sure if that is correct. Considering my stomach issues and photography snap shots. 10 miles is 10 miles.
