First Run of August
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
August 1st was a Saturday. I took the weekend off to enjoy my friends and rest. That is so important. Today is Monday, the start of the new week, new month, and a new run. I so did not want to get up. I was not in the mood. I know this is how a bad habit starts. Your not in the mood one day and 30 days later, your still not in the mood. I knew, even if I ran a mile, I still had to move today. It’s August and I haven’t run at all this month, though the month just got started.
I got up early. I was running by 5:27 a.m. Of course today was going to be in the 90s. When I started running it was 78 degrees and climbing. I will push through this. I ran in my neighborhood this morning. I pass through Bremen Street Park and onto the East Boston Greenway. After a mile in and I’m feeling warmed up, I thought I should run to Constitution Beach. I kept on going until I got to the beach. No one was there.
I had the beach to myself. I did stop for a bit to see and hear the planes as they took off. Breathing and taking in the cool. I wrote in the sand and then turned back to come home.
