Motivational note and stalkers for August
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Today is the last week of running before radiating. I can’t believe August is here and I’ve gone through two and half weeks of radiation. Yeah.
This morning, my legs and body are still a bit tired from hiking in the White Mountains yesterday. The Iowan and I were on a waterfall hiking adventure. We checked off two waterfall hikes. It’s funny, annoying and understandable how a 1.5 mile hike turns into 45 minutes. My running and walking brain thinks 1.5 miles can be run in 10mins or less and walked in 13mins. My brain got a quick adjustment.
Today was more of a take it easy, shake out run. I ran along the Mystic River Reservation for my Monday go to place. I was there at 5:55a.m. and it was quiet. I didn’t see any runners or walkers. Just the morning stalkers waking up.
After stretching and seeing a cute motivational note someone left, I slowly got into my groove. I could feel the tiredness of my body as I started. My body, my pace.
After a mile and a half in, I saw some walkers and I could see the rowers in the water. Again, this was my chill shake out run.
I was proud of my 5k check before going to radiation. I finished before 7a.m. which gave me wiggle room to breathe for going home and changing.
Mile 1: 11:06
Mile 2: 11:39
Mile 3: 9:57
Mile 3.12: 10:27
Today I arrived at my radiation parking space at 7:55a.m. Score! There was not a long line at the Visitor Check in. Actually, no one was there. I could take my time. Music for today was 2010s. They had some Post Malone song on and some other younins from the 2010s. I need to think about my music theme for the rest of this week.
