Masked up and ready for Monday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Another Monday and another new week. It’s 48 degrees out, dark, and I’m ready to run. Taking a couple of days off to rest is always good and it re-energizes my soul and body for running. 5:35 a.m. I was running in the Mystic River Reservation and I was the only person on the running/walking path. I forgot my headlight but I did bring a mini-flash light to make sure my path was lit.
My goal for today was less picture taken and more running. I wanted to get a feel of a long run without stopping. The first mile is always like a shake out mile, the next two are miles that I had to find my pace and stride and the last two I was in the groove. This is when I could have kept going for more miles. As the light was starting to come out, I started to see more people walking and walking their dogs. I didn’t need to have my mini flashlight on. With the early morning light, I saw a couple of my swan stalkers on the Mystic River and rabbits jumping on the path.
Overall it was a good 5.30 mile a.m. run to start off a Monday. And I was finished before 7 a.m., which I loved
