7/31 = 7.31 miles
COVID-19 “ The Rona”
It’s the end of July. July happened. Do I remember all of it? We are here. August will start getting back to school to teach class get ready prep. I can’t think about that now because it’s still July. It is only fitting that I run 7.31 miles for the day. I need to start upping my running miles. I don’t feel as strong as I should. This will be a good test. I know that running along the Charles River is 7 miles from the Cambridge to the Boston side. This is how Friday is going to start at 5:58 in the morning.
Running along the Charles I saw the stalker geese. I see them everywhere when I run. They were mostly asleep, not bothering anybody. Sleeping or not, they still stalk me and that is my story and I’m sticking to it.
As I continued to run two things happen. At 3.02 miles my map run app, told me that my workout was complete. Really? And the runners and bikers started to visible. I had to reset my app and make sure to ignore, avoid, and run past all the new people that I was seeing on this path.
It’s funny, the only two black people I saw were black men. One acknowledge me while running, the other did not which I find curious. I didn’t have time nor did I care to ask him about himself.
Before all the people, it was really peaceful and quiet in the state of chaotic craziness of the current world. For an hour or so I didn’t think about all of it. I could just focus on my running, nature, and what was currently in front of me. Even my stalker geese were a pleasure.
I felt I had a good strive while running. I had to stop and count to 30 a couple of times before running. I kept at a good pace, especially the last 4 miles. Slow and steady is the key for me.
