COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
August, uh, August. This is the prepping time to get ready for school, writing deadlines have to be met, and training for fall races has to happen. So much. Yesterday, I didn’t have the energy to run on Saturday. I didn’t have the energy to get up early. That is a sign to listen to my body to rest and sleep, which is what I did. That was so needed. Today, I was up and out of the house. I tried on a pair of new Nike running shoes- mistake. This morning I was running along the Charles river at 6:15a.m. It was a cool, perfect 67 degrees out. My plan was to run a 10k. I felt good enough to do it. But the shoes. I ran 4.40 miles. Slow, strong, and steady was my pace. I feel I had a nice stride going.
I’m going to keep it steady. August 23rd is when I need to start training for the BAA half marathon. I have time. Slowly building and enjoying running without being rushed.
