Running into the Sun

Running into the Sun

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

Today is a 10k a.m. humpday. Until we can fall back( move the clocks back an hour), getting up in the morning is a struggle. Normally it would not be. I think with COVID-19 craziness, teaching 65 students online, and fighting for public funding for higher education, the struggle to get up and out is real.

I did manage to get up and I drove to the seaport area of downtown Boston. My plan was to run on Castle Island and Carson Beach. In theory I should have gotten up early to do this because my day is full of meetings and teaching classes but that didn’t happen.

When I started running and looked at the time, I knew I could do 4 miles not 6 miles because I was on a time crunch. I’m not going to beat myself up about it. It was nice cool morning for a run. When I ran towards Castle Island, lots of people were out doing their physical thing. Since I was late running I was mindful of time and miles so I knew when to turn around.

It was good to run into the sun instead of having the moon follow me while running.

4.04 miles / 42:17mins, 10:28 pace.
