Canadian fires and Track Tuesday Muggy
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Last night was rough. Late night and early morning calls with the Iowan does not help. Especially the one hour time difference. I’m tired this morning but I have to go to Track Tuesday for a couple of reasons. One, it’s my Tuesday happy and I enjoy community and running. But two, I was asked to be a Red Team pacer. I didn’t respond to the email because I would see Coach Dan and the Red team today.
It’s all volunteer which is run. I enjoy running with them and this community. That’s what running is about. Finding a community, finding support, finding a network that encourages health and joy. This is one of them.
I said Yes.
Today, we ran 20 x 200s. Lots of running. But, it was muggy as hell. The haze over the Sun this morning might be from another round of Canadian wildfires. I was so sweaty that I become my own moisturizer. The sweat was dripping in my shoes. But we kept on running, talking, and laughing.
Big on conversation was the Bra Run. Some of the ladies came to it, others forgot it was last Sunday, and other ladies are still not ready yet to run with their tops off. I was telling them about the fun they missed out on and hopefully next year. Everyone has their own comfort level. You have to respect that.
Despite all the moisture, it was a good track day and I’m smelling ripe. :)
