Last Track Tuesday of June 2022
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yesterday it rained all day. The rain varied from little to torrential downpours throughout the day. In the early evening when it stopped, there was a beautiful sky and amazing rainbow. Unfortunately, I did not see it. My friends were posting pictures on facebook of the post rain sky and rainbow.
Today, after the rain, it was time to hit the track fro Track Tuesday. This morning was cool in the mid sixties, perfect for a run at 6:30 a.m. I headed over to MIT for Track Tuesday workout with the Heartbreakers running club. Today we were going around the track six times with a two minute break after each lap. This is to help up build mile strength.
I met some new folks and went to my beloved team red group. I appreciate running with a group because I get pushed a little more and learn some strategies around running.
I ran without music and focused on the run. The time went by fast and my pace was around an 8:45- because I was with the group. I felt good and strong.
I’m sad because I’ll have surgery in a couple of weeks and I won’t be able to run with the crew. I have to remind myself that I am building my strength, so recovery post surgery won’t be so bad.
