Last March 10k
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
50 degrees and it is the last a.m. run, the last 10k a.m. humpday run of March 2021. This has been a March like no other. Personally, I had my second surgery, the re-incision. This month we had a furlough implemented on the faculty and librarians at Salem State University. We had a protest, and a Retrenchment Plan was leaked. Oh, and I didn’t meet my writing deadlines this month. I’m tired. I was able to run a couple of weeks ago, after 6 weeks total of not running. But I will say, the Iowan and I have been exploring parts of Massachusetts and Maine. A happy of the month, my second vaccination shot and OU basketball beat University of Virginia. Oh what a month.
I didn’t run on Tuesday because I needed to get my work done. Today, the last day, it was a must to run This was the second 10k run I did. My pace started out a bit loser than I wanted but I was steady. Just like Monday I was able to see the sunrise and say goodbye to the moon.
I did feel out of “ long distance” running shape. There is a lot to work on before I can do another half. This was the perfect weather to run in. I saw two people( a black woman and white man) running. Everyone else I saw, walked to work or was walking their dog. Spring is here.
6.02 miles; 1:03:09 and 672 calories burned.
That is how March is ending
