First a.m. run of April( Birthday month plus two week celebration)
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
This will be year two of celebrating birthday month plus two weeks celebration in COVID. It’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by. It seems like ground hog day. It feels as if nothing has happened but a lot has happened. Things move fast and slow at the same time. Here I am, a year later and it’s birthday month. I planned on running on April 1st. Mother nature fooled us all with a cold , rainy, below freezing type of day. Today, the rain is gone, it’s sunny but still cold. I had to layer up with gloves, hat, and double jacket.
My first run of April is on a Friday. 4.20 miles was the goal, I ran 4.62 miles. Along my run were all the reminders of spring. Flowers, bikes, baseball, sculpture of naked person drinking. Spring also means Black Lives Matter and the Derek Chauvin trail. It’s sad that George Floyd won’t be able to enjoy spring ever again. Spring is also a time of renewal and reflection. Today is Good Friday as well and the last day of Holy week. Easter is on Sunday.
All of these thoughts went through my head for the first run of April. 10:20 pace: 47:43 time.
