Last Friday of April
COVID -19 The Era of the RONA
It is cold, gloomy, and raining on a Friday morning. The last Friday of April, my beloved birthday month. Of course I didn’t run yesterday( Thursday) when it was sunny out. My rest day. I have four long zoom meetings today. I knew I had to get my run on or I would be a pissy and annoyed person. Since it was dark out, the headlight came with me. It has been a while since I used it.
Friday is now, Franklin Park Fridays. I’m going to be consistent with my theme. When I got to Franklin Park, no one was there. Normally there are cars parked along the golf course. I was the only car. I did a brief stretch or two, put on my headlight and I started running. The rain was a light steady non stop drizzle. The only life I saw were the squirrels and I pissy looking turkey.
I did see two people walking. Those were the only folks that I passed. I just kept on running. I decided to play hide and seek with myself. There are so many places in the park that are hidden treasures. I was trying to find some of them.
While running I thought about being in Oregon for State #47. I would have been there this weekend. I had my emotions. Also, this same time last year I was in South Dakota, state #41 with my girl M., exploring the state. Many good memories.
3.15 miles later when I went to my car, I saw more cars, 3 parked along the golf course and saw a couple more runners and walkers.
I got my body moving and I was the queen of physical distancing because I owned that park between 6am-6:45a.m :)
