Friday
COVID-19 ‘The Rona Era”
Friday’s are Franklin Park Fridays. I made sure to get up and out the house extra early so I could be at Franklin Park by 5:45a.m. To my surprise, well I completely forgot, the governor opened up all the golf courses in the state. Franklin Park Golf course was open. I saw maybe 4 people on the greens.
That was a Friday discovery. I also discovered that it rained last night or early this morning. The rain made sure that hardly anyone was out and about walking or running. This was completely fine with me and made me happy.
I ran and had a good stride going up the hill inclines but I was tired. I needed energy/fuel. The goal was to run five miles but I ran 3.19 miles. If fueled properly I could have hit those 5 miles. And not to make excuses, I was hot. I over dressed to run. It was 50 degrees and muggy. I need to mindful of weather and we are in spring. Spring in Massachusetts is always a crap shoot. There is snow, rain, cold, heat, and more. You never know what you will get.
Bonus, while running : Pandora playing all the Friday jams. It was like she knew it was Friday and my mood. The first words I heard coming from her-
“Yeah, what up, this is Dr. Dre
The party's goin' on
Thank God it's Friday” - Keep Their heads ringing- Dr. Dre from Friday soundtrack
It just kept getting better. This was my getting ready for all the Friday morning meetings. This was the keep my feet moving and going.
What I love and will always love about running in Franklin Park on Fridays, seeing all the black and brown folks that wave and talk to me through their mask. That acknowledgement and greetings makes me so happy during the virus.
