Good Friday
COVID-19 aka The Rona Era
I wasn’t in the mood to run today. I didn’t go to bed until 11:30pm, which is late for me. Being up at 5 a.m. was not enough hours of sleep. I said screw it and went back to bed. Around 6:20 a.m. I felt the need , the pull to get up. My thought was: I should move but not run. I could walk or I could walk/run depending on my mood but I had to run.
Since today is Friday and I do love my themes. I drove to Franklin Park for Franklin Friday’s run. I may need to tweak my F’s but that is where I drove. Today is was windy and 35 degrees out. I should have brought my gloves. It was sunny and chilly. Once again the RONA running gear was mask, hat, and sunglasses.
No one could see my face or the smiling eyes that I try to emote out. This was a difference running covered up in a predominately African-American green space/park area. All the walkers and runners had on mask. Instead of speaking, people acknowledge one another by a hand wave or even a nod. Yup, the black nod has been RONA modified.
It took me a while to get my running groove so I walked, I was moving. I walked for a mile and ran for a mile and a half. Tomorrow will be a long run. My goal of this morning was to move, period cramps and all. And I did. So today was a good friday
