10k Beach Sunday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Graduation is over and running needs to happen today. I wanted to have a 10 mile long run this morning but I wasn’t feeling it. I know I need to properly fuel my body and to be honest I have not done it. My nutrition has been crap. If I had a race to train for I know I would be more mindful of the fuel I will need for my body.
Running on Revere Beach I knew I could do either 6, 8, or 10 miles. I have options. I ran 6.70 miles which was my middle. This morning there was hardly anyone on the beach. As I made my beach loop to head back to my car, all the people were out. Around 7 something is when the runners, dog walkers, lovers playing guitars to the beach, people hanging out and talking around their car happened.
It was a mixed bagged of people being good with masks and others not so much. I only received one smile an hello from a young latinx woman walking her dog. I waved and smiled back at her.
As I continued to run I realized that it is 15 days until June 1st. The midpoint of this year. As I was trying to member what I did from Jan through March before the Rona hit us hard. I thought of all the good and fun that happen and all the fun and joys that have happen post Rona. To my surprise I had many joyful moments pre and post Rona this year running and non running things.
The beach air gave me some peace and clarity as I was hitting the pavement for 6.70 miles.
