Last day of March Madness
From March 1st to March 31st this month has been a ride with COVID-19 aka THE RONA.
I went from going out to bars, social outing and visiting with friends, participating in Track Tuesday and Treadmill Thursday getting ready for state #47, my birthday race to being on quarantine , physically distancing myself from everyone , not going to church, having my race postpone to next year, and not meeting my running peoples. Oh and teaching the last four weeks of the semester online. So many emotions and feeling. The thing that has been constant throughout this month is running. I have run pretty much everyday this month. This has been my outlet, my exercise, my only time out of the house( besides for minor errands). This is when I get to be with nature, see people, art, the urban landscape. Running started as my spiritual health to grieve my mother but it has also been apart of my emotional and mental health. The physical health for me has just been the extra bonus.
To be able to run post Hoffa Fat Pad impingement is an extra gift and bonus. March was also ending physical therapy because my knee was getting strong and I now know what I have to do to keep the pain away. I ran my first 10 miles this month, heck first 10 miles this year. This month I changed my diet to cut out foods that cause inflammatory pain. I did a Moth talk about running with bears and I hung with some of my favorite people this month.
So many things for March madness. That’s why I planned on running 3.31 miles for 3/31/20. Typical me, I ran 4.45 miles. I think it’s fine. :)
