Last humpday a.m. run of Spring 2020

COVID-19; The Rona Era

Tired and tired. I got up at 5a.m. and slept until 5:57a.m. No apologies what so ever. Today is a 10k a.m. humpday, the last humpday of Spring 2020. I can’t even believe we are in the middle of June. I made an appointment to see my acupuncturist for the Hoffa Fat Pad knee. Today I ran a gentle 2.04 miles to move the body and get the heart going. In the 2.04 miles of running in downtown Boston, I passed different interpretative narratives( through sculptures) of freedom. As people are becoming( again) aware of oppression, systemic forms of racism, the narrative of sculptures and art are apart of this construction of a dominate narrative of freedom, history, and justice.

I ran past the statue of Harriet Truman and leading slaves to freedom through the underground railroad. Then I passed a sculpture of Abraham Lincoln with a slave at his knees with the words that state “ a race set free.” Other arts of freedom, Bob Marley, fountain with water flowing, another sculpture with a man and bird. All different narratives, or I how see it of freedom.
