Saturday winter running
I was totally ready to run this morning. The distance today would be four miles. This would be the longest outdoor run I’ve had all year and post Hoffa Fat Pad Impingement diagnosis. So far I’ve been doing well with three miles. It has been three miles of either track workout or treadmill workout. Thou on Thursday I ran 4.25 miles on the treadmill. Outdoors is a different ball game.
Now my routine before running is to stretch. A good stretch to activate the body and especially the quads. Once that was done, I went out the house to start running. In the process I realized that I haven’t run in my own neighborhood in a long time as well. Today was a day of many firsts.
The 30 degree weather wasn’t bad. I had a 10:47mile/pace and I kept that for three miles. Then I walked a bit to let my knee rest. I was determined that the last mile I would run it straight, no stops, no walking. And I did. I’m still listening to my body. I ran 4.19 miles this morning in 45:20. My pace average 10:50.
From Map my run:
1 mile = 10:48pace
2 mile =10:13 pace
3 mile =11:28 pace( walking, shaking on ache in leg)
4 mile= 11:22 pace
We will try this again on Sunday :)
