Last Long run before Marathon
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This is the last long run before my 5th marathon, Every Woman’s Marathon. I know I said this before but I hate that I am not 100% with this damn knee. This will be a Marathon for me like no other on multiple levels. My peeps will be there to cheer me know. I have Iowan peoples now. My knee is wobbly, I’ll be doing interval running. 4 min run, 1 min walk for all 26.2 because of the knee. The course is flat and we have over 7 hours to run it. This is the first all woman’s marathon, the integral race that I will be participating in. And the country has elected a criminal , an authoritative dictator to kill democracy. So many things.
Today, is an 8 mile beach run. I’m still mourning and working through what happened on Nov. 5th. Running along and by nature brings me some calm. This was a beautiful morning. Blue skies, the smell of salt water, cool breeze. It was a good morning.
At 6 a.m. I tried running a 4/1. Last week for the Cambridge half I ran a 5/1. I’m still working on interval running.
At PT, my knee was K-Taped. I’m trying to run with it on and a knee compression sleeve.
Still feeling it out. I ran 8.16 miles at 12:14 ave pace in 1:39:44.
I do like the Interval training method. My goal is to finish around 5 hours or so. I have the rest of the weekend to figure it all out.
