Track Tuesday: Black History Month

Track Tuesday: Black History Month

Era of Madness

Track is needed. I can’t keep up with all of the segregationist policies and executive orders. Despite moving, trying to exercise I’m still tired. It’s not a “ need more sleep” tired or a “ tired from exercise tired”. This is different. Getting up in the morning was a bit of a struggle today. I know once I’m at Track and see everyone, I’ll be happy and energized.

I felt out of sorts this morning. I couldn’t find my Pacer outfit or my knee compression sleeve. If I put everything out last night I would not be in this situation this morning. But I was tired.

I got my shit together and went to track. The cold, cold, cold weather does not help. I kept going. While driving the moon was shining so bright. I tried to take a picture but it didn’t work. In the quiet of the morning and seeing the shining full moon was very striking.

The moon guided me to find a prime parking spot across the street from the Reggie. Even with my delay this morning I was still early and the first person inside the Reggie.

On tap today was a triple Decker sandwich. 6 min temp run, 4 x200, 6 min temp run, 4 x200, 6 min temp run. Team red was on point today and I did some good pacing. Coach Dan was a traffic director for the red team. Things do get a bit crazy on the track and we couldn’t get on the track with the staggering with the different teams.

This was a hard workout but we did. Even though we had a track management issue, there were not as many people on track today compared to last Tuesday. That’s like 90 folks compared to 120.

Even with my wobbly knee I kept steady. This gives me hope for the 8 miler I will be doing in Selma.

Still #winning.
