COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

I know it’s summer and I know it’s hot and humid. But damn. I started running at 6a.m. this morning and it was already 81 degrees. I could get up earlier but I need to sleep. What the hell. So I just need to do the best that I can in this weather.

Today, I ran along the Charles Esplanade. I may need to eat more. Really, in hind sight, I should have put on a fuel vest so I can hydrate and have snacks. But I did not want to add any weight to my body because it’s alreay hot. Might have been a bad choice.

Slow, steady ,and steady was the way I had to go. Even though my left knee is feeling weird( Hoffa Pat Pad knee), I ran. I was feeling good. But the amount of sweat made me feel as if I took a shower in my clothes. Sweat was running into my shoe. I felt gross. On top of that I didn’t full map out 7 miles. That was the plan, 7 miles. 6 got done.

People were out running-in this weather- yuk! At a point, I started to run/walk. It took me over an hour and 20 mins to run a 10k. It was tough. I was soaked but I ran a 10k. Slowly making my ways to increase mileage.

This ends week 1 of marathon training. 16 miles on pavement and 3 miles on elliptical machine, two days of strength training. Total 19 miles of running movement for Week 1 of training.

Goal is to do better next week.
