Chilly and Dark Thursday 5k
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
My goal this week is to get 15 miles and two hours on my feet. To ease into it after the Boston 10k for women, I ran a 5k this morning. My goal was to run 4 miles. I’m slower with my knee, for now, I had to stop at 3 miles. Why? Every Thursday, Beverly and I talk at 7 a.m. My motivational running goal is to be finish with my miles before our 7 a.m. chat. That did not happen.
It was cold and dark, dark and cold. I stayed in bed with the Iowan a little bit longer. Then we I got out of bed, I had to do pre warm up and stretching. I did not take into account how long that would take.
All that to say, I stopped my watch at 3.21 miles which took 38:23mins at 11:57 mile pace. Remember this is the not 100% pace. I was rewarded for my effort by seeing a beautiful morning moon. And I tested out my mini reflective lights. Not to self, layer up, put on gloves, to get ready for winter weather because shitz is cold.
I’m going to acupuncture today and will start PT on Monday. Hopefully this will help. The Everywoman’s Marathon is a month away.
