First run of the first day of school
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
The month of July it felt like fall. It was rainy, windy, and cold. September, it’s a heat wave. Today it’s 74 degrees, muggy, and it’s only 5:30 a.m. This morning my goal is to run a 5k before the start of the first day of school. Yes, I ran 8.50 miles on Monday and 3 miles on Track Tuesday but I decided to run today and not make this a rest day.
As soon as I left the house, the heat hit me. Slow and steady was my motto. I had on my new Nike shorts, head light, and phone. Running along the East Boston Greenway, I counted the 5 men that were running early in the morning too. No one had on any reflective gear, expect me. A couple of the men just ran without a top on. The gender dynamics were very apparent to me this morning. I kept my reflective light gear self moving. By the time I ran through the active shipyard it was almost 6a.m. and I was close to 2 miles. At point, 2 miles would have to be the starting miles before 2 instead of 3. I’m good with that.
