Last Monday a.m. run of September
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
This past weekend was wet. Rainy, wet, rainy, wet. We were lucky to get 8 miles in on Saturday before the run. Today, Monday it’s raining all day long. Luckily for me, the rain hadn’t hit my neighborhood at 5:45a.m. this morning. While it was still nice, cool, and twilight out I ran. I debated if I should run a 10k or 5k this morning. The half marathon training plan has two 8 milers this week. I gave myself a range of 3-6 miles.
This morning was the perfect weather for running. Cool, 61 degrees out. My legs and body felt very strong. I actually felt good while running. I’m sure my time could have been better if I wasn’t stopping to take pictures. :). I ran along the waterfront to take in the views. The only reason I’m running today is because strength training class was cancelled today. Normally I wouldn’t be running on the Monday.
I took in the views, miles, and folks waiting on the metro bus and going to school. By 6:30 a.m. the quiet of my neighborhood starts to get a lit louder and busier.
After 3 miles in, I felt a rain drop. I started to see rain drops on the sidewalk. That was my sign to bring it in. I did not want to get caught in the rain running. 4.14 miles later I was home before the rain cometh to my neighborhood.
This was a good run to the start of the week.
