First April Track Tuesday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s April and it’s Birthday month. That means, 28 days until Big Sur Marathon. That means two more track Tuesday’s with the Heartbreaker crew before Boston Marathon.
I just got back into town Sunday morning from conferencing in South Carolina for several days. I did get a couple of beach runs in. Now it’s time to get back to my running and nutrition plan. Needless to say, which conferencing I might have “ over conferenced” a bit with seeing colleagues, having discussions at the hotel bar, and hanging out.
That was then, today is now.
I made my way to the Reggie, to see the peeps. It’s always a vibe and great energy. Today Captain Jeff from BMR showed up, that was a first. And Robert, another BMR member told me that he is also running in Big Sur in a couple of weeks too. Sooo cool.
I thought I would be a bit rusty during our workout but it was the opposite. I felt good and strong. We ran several 800s at 5k pace, tempo pace, and marathon pace. I have to remind myself that marathon pace is my comfortable pace. It’s the pace I need to hold onto for 4 hours. Team red with Jordan and MB always pull through. The support and encouragement are amazing. I was reminded to keep a sexy pace.
It’s hard but fun. Even after training for the races, I will still show up. This is my good first run back in the bean
