Naughty or Nice for 10k a.m. run?
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
We are suppose to get hit with a snow storm late tonight. The weather report this morning said it was windy and chilly outside. I had to dress accordingly to get a 10k in. Thanks to the REI workshop I did B.I.P. - Base layer, Insular layer, and protective layer. I was ready. When I went outside, it was a warm 33 degrees. I know that you have to add another 10- 12 degrees when you run. In otherwords, I over dressed and I was hot.
Damn, Damn, Damn. I had to make it work it. I ran through Maverick Square and crossed the bridge to run in Chelsea. To my surprise it was quiet out. It was 6 a.m. in the morning. I felt good and strong. For me, the key is to not over train. I’m still working on building my baseline. It was a nice morning to run.
It was nice to see Santa at different spots along my run. That was my running motivation. I was slow and cautious because there were some ice spots and it was a bit slippery out. 5 days ago, my 10k pace was under 11 mins. I’m not going to beat myself up about it since I’m just building my baseline.
I’m also working on less pictures and more running. Today I ran 6.05 miles ; Pace: 11:08; Time 1h7m.
Good Thursday morning.
