10k a.m. post election day run
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
I went to bed early because I couldn’t bear to see the election results across the country yesterday. I knew at least in Massachusetts we would have our first elected female Governor. But for the rest of the country…ugh.
This morning, it made sense to run before checking the news for the results. Today was truly a fall morning. 30 degrees outside and dark. I had to layer up a bit before running. Of course I had the headlight and the birdie alarm attached to me.
I just took my time and felt my stride. I didn’t have a route in mind. I thought I should run a 5k if I didn’t run a 10k. I ran along the waterfront and followed the moon. She was so full and bright. I ran over the bridge and to the stadium. Since I don’t do track tuesdays this semester, I ran around the track four times. As I made my way home, I realized I was 5.45 miles in. I was definitely doing a 10k today.
I actually felt good running and enjoyed it. I believed I reached a point, where I need to rest a bit and take it easy. I know when Marathon training starts, it will be a different ball game.
