Monday 68 degrees of Fall running

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Climate Change is so real. It’s 5:45a.m. and it’s all 65 degrees in November. What the what? Sunday we switched to daylight sayings time. We “ fell back” with the clocks. Everyone gets to sleep in for an extra hour. My body doesn’t know anything about that. At 4a.m. this morning my body woke me up before my alarm because it my body thought it was 5a.m. It’s going to take a while for my body to adjust. I tried to capitalize on the sleep, that really didn’t work.

My goal this morning was to run 7 miles because today is the day that I became a runner. Today I went from researching running to claiming my identity as a runner. Seeing 600 black women running in New Jersey will do that to you.

With fresh batteries in my headlight, I went to Assembly row to run along the Mystic River. It was getting lighter and warmer. I was not prepared. I had on a short sleeve shirt and running tights. I really needed to have on shorts. I ran/ walked my way around the mystic for 3.30 miles.

The leaves were still popping with color and it seemed like it had rained last night. It was humid out.

Even though I was up early, I stayed in bed and waited until later to get up. Now, I wish I had gotten up when I should so I could run 7 miles. Oh well.

Goal of the week: run 7 miles.
