Monday a.m. run = moon and snow dusting
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Today should be a rest day according to my marathon training plan. I wanted to test my legs and make sure everything could still move. The plan was to slowly run a couple of miles, more of a shake out run. At 20 degrees, I ran around Horn pond at 6:15 a.m.
I was up at 5:45a.m. Did stretches, and to my surprise, saw the light dusting on the ground and my car. Warming and defrosting the car took a while. When I drove to the pond, there were no cars or anyone around. I didn’t even hear or see my stalkers.
I didn’t have my headlight, but I had a mini flashlight with me when I ran. I ran with caution because I hope I wouldn’t slip or the ground would be too icy but it wasn’t. As I ran I realized I didn’t need the flashlight. The moon was so bright and clear that it lit my path.
My body and legs felt good. After the situation on Saturday, my body bounced back pretty quickly. Slow, steady, and strong was the theme of this mornings 2 miler.
