Nature, art, stalkers, and miles
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This morning at 9:30a.m. I have an appointment with the radiation oncologist doctor. The meeting will be a consultation about moving forward with radiation. Also today is street cleaning day and I am parked on the wrong side of the street. To maximize all that I needed to do this morning: walk, get ready for the doctor, find parking…., I decided to pack a bag. I showed and got dressed in walking attaire. I also brought a change of clothes to see the doctor in. My plan was simple. I’ll park in my secret free parking spot by the hospital. Then I’ll walk in Olmstead park, change in my car , and walk to the hospital.
I was parked around 5:45a.m. when I started my walk. I was by a meter, which started at 8a.m. As long as I was back by 8 a.m., I would then park in my secret spot.
Riverwalk Park connects to Olmstead Park, which is all apart of the Emerald Necklace. The Necklace consists of over 1,000 acre of parks designed by Fredrick Law Olmstead.
In the park there was an exhibit called “The Lights Gets In” which is apart of the Studio without walls . There was a lot of amazing and interesting art in the park. I wasn’t expecting this. I’m looking at the art, walking, and then I see the stalkers. So many of them in this urban oasis that I was walking in. You would not have known you were in the city. Everything was so peaceful and lovely.
I guess the tail sign of being in the city was seeing people with their hospital badges walk through the park. This park was a plan for runners, walkers, and bikers. I could have walked for longer period of time but I had to get back to get ready.
This will be a place I will run once I get the ok.
I walked four miles, changed, and went to Tate coffee shop because I had an hour to use before I started to walk to the hospital. The hospital is a 5 to 10 minute walk away.
