Memorial Day and First Walk
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Today is my first day of walking post breast reconstruction surgery. This time, the third time was rough. Unlike the lumactomy and re excision, recovery was painful. I was nauseous, I threw up, and was prescribed oxy and an antibiotic drug to take. That did not happen the last two times.
I was told that I would not be able to run for four weeks compared to the first time which was two or three weeks before I could run. This was completely different procedure and pain. All to make sure Tyrone( cancer) doesn’t come back and we are cleaning house. :).
This weekend has been cold and rainy. This morning it rained. I wanted to try to walk at least a mile on the last day of May. I told myself to go slow and be patient. This morning it was foggy and damp. My goal was to walk around the block. From my house to the Reel House( restaurant on the waterfront) was one mile. Then I turned myself around.
My pace was slower than it would have been. I was extra cautious to feel how my body would move post surgery. It wasn’t bad. I’m glad I made the effort. One step in front of the other.
