First 4 miler walk
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
The goal of the day was to walk 4 miles. I feel that I am ready. It’s been 3 and half weeks post surgery and it’s time to step it up a notch. This is the perfect morning for an extra mile. The heatwave over the last 6 days has broke. It’s 71 degrees, cloudy and cool. I know we will get some much needed rain later this morning. Until it rains, I will walk.
I made the walk this morning functional. I walked over to the post office and dropped off mail. Then I walked over the bridge to reach Brenmen street park. For the first time, I was jealous of seeing the runners run this morning. This would be a great morning to run. Patience, patience, patience.
I saw the community garden and everyone walking to the T to go to work or school. After the park, I walked on the track at East Boston Stadium. I’m missing my track Tuesday workouts. I walked around the track three times.
As I started to walk home, the rain came. Luckily it started off as a light rain. That was doable since I was .50 miles from home.
It took an hour and 7 minutes. Not bad for the first long walk.
