Monday Beach run with some squats

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. It was the perfect spring day. After the Iowan and I went to a social distance brunch at a friends out, we then explored the Boston Commons and Public Gardens. Since the pandemic, I haven’t seen so many people out in public spaces in a long while. Everyone had on mask. People were feeding the ducks, picnicking on the grass, flying kites, sitting, walking ,strolling around, and just sitting. It was a happy day, an uplifting spirit and soul day.

Today is now Monday, the first full week of April. I want to get as many runs into before my tentative surgery date of the 16th. To start off the week, I ran 4.12 miles on Revere Beach. It was 48 degrees out, overcast, and windy. Very different weather conditions from yesterday. When I eat, rest, and hydrate well, I run better. Not rocket science I know. I ran 4.12 miles in 41:50 and had a 10:10 min/mile pace going.

I’m going to try to run four miles everyday, or at least the days that I run until my surgery. I think the more I run, the better I become. Then I’ll work on the strength training stuff. I’m working on not running for six weeks and getting my stride back.

Always a work in progress. :)
