Bye Winter Bye
COVID19, “The Rona Era”
Finally, the last day of winter is here. Spring keeps knocking on winter’s door. There has been a back and forth battle of winter letting spring in. Now spring is ready. It’s 32 degrees out, which isn’t so bad and it’s Friday to boot. Yesterday I rested because the was a rally on campus to protest Furloughs. I should have walked yesterday but I wanted to sleep in, prepare my words to speak at the rally, and make sure I had enough snacks for the people. We had a good turn out of 45 folks from faculty, librarians, alumni, and our union colleagues from the other sister institutions. Afterwards, I did think about going for a walk but the rain changed my plans.
Yesterday was also the one month anniversary of Black Titties Thursday. A month ago yesterday, was the last time I went running. The was the day I ran before my surgery. It’s been a month and a day since I last ran. I’m hoping next week when I see the doctor, I get the clear the clear to run. As of today I’m 154.2 lbs. I’ve been doing more eating and drinking than moving my body, which I am aware of. I acknowledge it, and now it’s time to change that. I need to work on the scale going down and getting stronger.
Today, after I walk, I’m going to get my second vaccination shot. That’s motivation to get my act together and reclaim myself. Also, I have a doctor’s appointment next week, so more motivation.
I crossed the bridge to walk over to Mary O’Malley park in Chelsea. It was a steady 3.61 walking miles. Always have to cross those bridges.
