First run and day of February
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
We are expecting a Nor’easter later on today. That means a couple of days of snow, shoveling, and being stationary, and warm. Today is also a double digit morning. Over the weekend the temperature was 8 to 9 degrees. Today it is a bomby 25 degrees out. I thought a beach run would be good. I don’t know how things will look tomorrow. This morning I owned the beach. There was no one around. The snow, sand, and water gave a feel of being on another planet or in another place. I’m not sure where. I didn’t feel like I was on Revere Beach.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still cold outside. For the first two and a half miles, I didn’t see anyone. Running back, I saw the gang of construction workers in their neon yellow shirts going to work. There is still a lot of new condo/apartment construction on the beach.
I also so some walkers in the distance on the beach and some walkers on the sidewalk as light started to come. Then I saw the stalkers. All hanging out by the water. I guess with low tide, it means good eating for them. Crabs and clams, are things in their mouths. Many of them just layed on the beach without a care in the world.
Since I left let, I didn’t start the run until late. I wanted to run 5 miles. I had to go grocery shopping, shower and change and get ready for a 9 a.m. meeting. 4.58 miles was the in between mileage to start off the second month of 2021.
