5k Monday
COVID-19 , “The Rona Era”
The last full week of August. How did this happen. This is the last week of getting ready for classes before school starts next Tuesday. Running everyday this week is going to be a must because there is so much work to get done.
Today, I wanted to explore Dorchester, Upham’s Corner, which is the largest neighborhood in Boston. This morning’s run was historic, creative, artsy, powerful, and beautifully black. I found the oldest house in Boston in Dorchester, a beautiful and famous burial ground, fabulous black murals. All in 3.14 miles.
I could have gone further but it was getting hot. I was finished running at mile 2.65. I thought, I should just make it a 5k Monday. I pushed myself to run further.
While running, a black man I passed by, told me to keep going and smiled at me. He was clearly proud to see this black woman moving.
