8.23 beach miles for 8/23
COVID-19 “ The Rona Era”
When I get the proper amount of sleep and really good sleep at that, I’m so good to go in the early morning. Today I got up before my alarm. I was determine to run 8.23 miles today. I knew if I didn’t get up early and do it, it may not happen.
The motivating factor for me, was my fellow BGR sole sista Katonya. She is training for the Boston Marathon and she was up before 5 a.m. and was posting a video on facebook live by 5:00a.m. as she was getting ready to run 12 miles. I was sending her live messages of encouragement. I told her if she can do 12, I can do 8. She was going to hold me accountable for those miles.
Even though we were not running physically together, we were running together. I knew I had to get those miles in.
My go to, is Revere Beach this morning , because I know the route and the mileage. Now sunrise is later as we go into the fall, I got a chance to run into the sun.
The great thing about running early, was the quiet of the beach before all the “early” morning people embarked on it.
This was a good strong and pain free run. I wasn’t tired, I know I should have fueled better the night before.
8.26 miles = 1:26:02; 10:25 min/ml. Slow and steady is working for me.
