8/16 = 8.16 a.m. miles
COVID-19 “The Rona Era”
Sunday a.m. long run today. Yesterday I wasn’t in the mood to run but I ran a little over 2 miles. Today I needed to get back on my game. Fall decided to visit summer today. This was my sign to go for a long run. Today is 8/16 and my plan is to run 8.16 miles. I drove to Castle Island to run the Harborwalk loop from Castle Island, Carson beach, Dorchester Bay.
I’m always happy when I don’t see people. At 5:55 a.m. there was hardly anyone around or any cars where I parked my car. I was running into the sun coming up over the water, which was a lovely sight to see. It never gets old. There was a cyclist and a fisherman that were taking pictures with the sun coming up too.
After the sun photo shoot, I started running. I made note that I have to go slow, feel my pace, and just be steady. When I did that I didn’t feel any knee pain and I felt strong. My continued issue is fuel to keep going. I wasn’t tired. I reduced my photo shoots and kept at pace.
At the 3.52 mile marker for me( being by the JFK museum) I turned around. I should help kept going to 4 miles before I turned around. This is where the tired came in and I needed to have more endurance.
I turned and kept on running. Still feeling good and in my pace and stride.I noticed my shorts were sagging and needed to be pull up. Not sure if that is good or not. I decided if people see my underwear, they just see it. I wasn’t going to keep pulling up my shorts and running. That was too much to focus in on.
As I was making my way back, I did start to see more people because it was getting later in the morning. By the time I made the full circle back to Castle Island it was 7.11 miles. Yeah. I wasn’t going to run 1.06 miles around the loop again because that just annoys me. I should have kept going to 4 miles before I turned around. Instead I decided to walk 1.06 miles for a cool down.
8.16 miles total of moving and grooving this body. My new thought is to run 8 miles at least every sunday during the month of August. That should get me on the right path. :)
