Monday full 5k a.m. run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
I can’t believe there are two weeks left in the month of July. This month is flying. Also this is the first full week of radiation. With this new start to the week, I want to make sure to listen to my body and keep it strong. This morning, I made the attempt ( and did) run a 5k this morning. I didn’t walk/run. I ran the whole dang thing. My groin “annoyance” was around a 1 out of a 10. 10 being super painful. I kept a slow and steady pace. It was still a bit foggy from the rain. Before I ran, I made sure to stretch. After 5 minutes, it was time to run.
I kept a good pace, saw a couple of people running. It was just me. I run along the Mystic River Reservation by Assembly Row. It was 5:50a.m. when I started running and the traffic was picking up fast. Running along the mystic river I saw all the rowers. They added something extra to my running route scenery.
Before I knew it, I ran a mile. I was still running and not in pain. I surprised myself. All last week I ran/walked. When I made it to the mile two marker, the stalkers were all waiting for me. Of course. :).
There was a guy I in front of me running. Slowly, I caught up and passed him, I’ll admit, that felt great. By mile 3.41 I had to stop. It was close to 6:30 and I had to drive home and get ready for radiation.
